The Fake Lamborghini and Limo Garage in Gary, Indiana That Burned Down
A small Gary, Indiana garage with a Lamborghini kit car, stretch limos and a pile of tires, since destroyed by fire.
Inside this small little ugly garage in Gary, Indiana we found some really cool cars. A fake Lamborghini, a stretch limo, a pile of tires. Sadly, the place burnt down to the ground.
I wanted to reshoot it because I didn’t think my footage or audio turned out that great. Thankfully RangerRickTV shared some of his clips with me, so a lot of what you see in the video is his. The exact location stays off this page.
What we found
The headline car is a Lamborghini, and it isn’t one. It’s more of a kit car made to look like a Lamborghini. Even though it says the word Lamborghini on it, it’s not. It still looks cool though.

Then there’s a stretch Lincoln Navigator limo. It goes really deep. It smells just like mildew in there. One of the doors doesn’t close, and the limo has alcohol in it.

At one point someone asked if we were sure it was fake, and the answer was yes. What they do is put Lamborghini parts on a regular car, so it’s cheaper.

Another limo is dressed up to look like a Bentley. It isn’t a Bentley, but it’s still cool. We figured it was a Lincoln stretch of some kind that had been turned into a Bentley, or made to look like one.

Later we got to the famous kit car, the Lambo with no wheels. It looks more destroyed than the last time I was here. Out back is where they dump all their tires.

Why places like this end up empty
I don’t know what started the fire, and the video doesn’t say. The city this garage was in has been dealing with the same problem for years.
In August 2015 ABC7 Chicago reported more than 6,700 abandoned buildings in Gary, with about 20 percent of properties abandoned and not just vacant. The city demolished 163 buildings in 2014 and 111 in the first part of 2015, and expected to reach about 400 by the end of that year. The story named arson as one of the problems, and said there was little money for board ups.
A year later WBEZ reported that the city had about 6,000 abandoned structures that generate no taxes, and that some city officials put the number of abandoned properties at 8,000 to 12,000. The city had secured federal demolition funds, but not enough to cover each structure.
The garage burned to the ground, so Rick’s clips and mine are what’s left of it.
